Anthriscus sylvestris - Cow Parsley
This is a very common flower of spring and early summer on shaded roadsides and similar places.
The distinctive leaves are 2 or 3-pinnate giving them a fern-like appearance.
Stem furrowed, downy below, hairless above. Plant not aromatic.
Umbels have 4-10 primary rays and no lower bracts but several undivided upper bracts. Umbel has gently curving surface but not at all globular.
Flowers > 3 mm across. Petals slightly notched or unnotched, outer flowers have outer petals larger, inner ones have all petals same size. Fruits small and black.
