Apera spica-venti Loose Silky-bent or Wind-grass

This is a tall, grass with a diffuse panicle. The branches are in whorls, and are bare for at least the bottom half. The florets are small (3mm) with awns about 2mm long. An unusual, annual grass of sandy soils and arable fields.
