Anthyllis vulneraria - Kidney Vetch
The flowers of Kidney Vetch are unique, the flower head having many brightly-coloured (normally deep yellow) flowers surrounded by dense calyx hairs. The leaves are pinnate, and silkly hairy below especially when young, the terminal lobe being much larger than the laterals.
Although this species is often found on the coast, it has made an occasional home on shingly, gravelly ground in inland Lanarkshire.
