Oenothera species - Evening Primrose

This family of species presents many problems in identification beyond "Evening Primrose". The species hybridise in complex ways.

The flowers are scented in the evening and are notable for the reflexed bracts behind the flowers.

They are garden escapes and are established in several localities in Lanarkshire.
